How to Read Peptide Research (Without Getting Misled)

Animal studies, cell lines, and small human trials are not interchangeable. Use this framework when evaluating claims.

Study types

Preclinical work (in vitro, rodents) can suggest mechanisms but cannot prove outcomes in humans. Randomized controlled trials in humans are stronger for clinical claims, but still require context: population, dose, duration, and endpoints matter.

Red flags

Be skeptical of permanent citations to conference abstracts only, extreme claims without primary sources, and conflation of brand marketing with evidence. Prefer primary literature or regulatory labels for approved drugs.
